Wim Hof Breathing Timer

Set your rounds, your breaths and your retention times, then press start. The timer counts the breaths, holds the silence with you, and tells you when to breathe in again — no video, no voice, nothing to follow but your own rhythm.

Ready

How to use it

  1. Pick your rounds and breaths — 3 rounds of 30 breaths is a good starting point.
  2. Breathe fully in and let go with each count. After the last exhale, hold with empty lungs while the timer counts up.
  3. When the urge to breathe wins, tap the button, inhale deep and hold 15 seconds. The timer moves to the next round by itself.

Why use a timer instead of a guided session?

A guided video decides everything for you: the pace of the breaths, how long each hold lasts, when the next round begins. That is exactly what you want when you are learning, and exactly what gets in the way once you know the practice. A timer lets your own rhythm lead. Your holds end when your body says so, not when the audio moves on.

Most practitioners use both. Guided sessions when they want to be carried, the timer when they want to listen to themselves.

How to use it

Choose your rounds and set the breaths per round — thirty is the standard. Leave the retention open if you want to hold for as long as it stays comfortable, or set a time if you are working toward something specific. Then lie down, close your eyes, and let the cues do the counting.

Leave the tab open and your screen unlocked, or the timer may pause with the tab.

Take your times with you

The timer runs in your browser and forgets everything when you close it. The Meditorama app records each hold, builds the curve over weeks, and works offline.

Frequently asked questions

  • Is this timer free? Yes, entirely, with no account and no limits.
  • Does it work offline? Once the page has loaded it keeps running, but the app is the better option for practising without a signal.
  • How many rounds should I set? Three or four is the standard session. More rounds make it longer, not better.
  • How long should the holds be? Leave them open if you can. A hold that ends when you need to breathe teaches you more than one that ends when a clock says so.

Always practise sitting or lying down. Never in or near water, and never while driving.
